Jungle Fever in Costa Rica
The jewel of Central America, Costa Rica contains tropical rain forests, active volcanoes, hot spring spas, unspoiled white sand beaches, rivers and waterfalls, and many national parks.
Contributor Harriet Bernstein recently visited Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge, an adventure travel destination in the southern part of Costa Rica that strives for total sustainability.
The Lodge is surrounded by untouched coastal jungle inhabited by howler monkeys, pumas, wild ginger, scarlet macaws -- and perhaps the two of you on your honeymoon or next romantic getaway.

Airlines Tighten Carry-On Allowances
Last week I flew back from Texas on one of Continental Airlines' pack-em-in 737 planes. Given that I was coming from cattle country, I could understand how those poor beasts feel when herded. Space is tight for luggage, too. So I wasn't surprised that customers with a carry-on bag had to show the gate attendant that their luggage would fit inside a standard form. If not, it would have to fly with checked bags, where passengers are charged $25. More and more airlines are looking to these luggage fees as a revenue source.
Fortunately, my suitcase fit. But driving trips are looking more appealing every day.

"The Bachelor" 2010 Proposes in St. Lucia
The natural beauty of St. Lucia (pronounced saint loo-sha), with its iconic Piton mountains, plus its extraordinary hideaways, have made it one of the Caribbean's most romantic destinations. Among the island's newest resorts, the futuristic Jade Mountain (pictured) provided the setting for "The Bachelor" to make his proposal. The venue was the property's Celestial Terrace, overlooking St. Lucia's twin peaks and blue, blue water.
Whether you're planning a proposal, already received one, or simply want a great island getaway, Jade Mountain -- where every suite has a private plunge pool -- will seduce you.

A celebration of freedom and escape since biblical times, the weeklong Passover holiday (beginning at sundown on March 29, 2010) is among the most joyous in the Jewish religion. While many couples travel during Passover to spend time with relatives, others check into resorts where they can both observe the holiday and fit in a vacation.

Honeymoon with Children
The
ideal honeymoon sends a couple as far away from children as possible, allowing the new bride and groom to celebrate undisturbed and focus exclusively on their own desires. However, when a couple with minor children marry -- and there is no one to care for their children while they are away -- they're faced with the dilemma of either not having a honeymoon or taking a Honeymoon with Children.
If this is your predicament, read about the best places to take your children. If you have additional suggestions on great places for a family honeymoon, add them to the comments below.

"Hello? Is this
The Greenwich Hotel?" "Are you talking to me? Are you talking to ME? Are you TAWKIN to ME? I'm the only one here."
Although you're not likely to have that conversation if you call the Robert De Niro-owned hotel, it is fun to imagine.
His is just one on my list of Celebrity Owned Hotels. Find out here about properties owned by celebrities who include Bono, Gloria Estefan, Elizabeth Hurley, John Malkovich, Michael Douglas, Mick Jagger, and others masters of the fame game.

Free Vacation or Honeymoon Trip
I've always been skeptical of the words "free vacation," believing that what it really means is an interminable, high-pressure timeshare presentation combined with a night or two in a mediocre hotel. Or that the vacation is free -- but the taxes, resort fees, high-priced meals, exorbitant activity and minibar charges, and gratuities to every employee in possession of a palm to extend are anything but free. The good news: There are some genuinely free vacation offers. The bad news: You have to be the one picked to receive the prize of a free vacation from among the thousands of people who try to win.

What to Do with Old Valentine Rose Petals
One of the most romantic Valentine's Day gifts anyone can receive,
roses are beautiful on the stem. Alas, cut roses don't last very long. A few days after Valentine's Day, even the sturdiest blooms will start to droop. But you need not toss them out.
To extend the life of your rose petals, read Romantic Uses for Your Valentine's Day Rose Petals.
